Evan G. Chancellor

Evan Chancellor has served on the music faculty of Oklahoma Baptist University, East Central University, Oral Roberts University, public schools in Oklahoma and Texas, and the Oklahoma Homeschool Bands program. In the summer, he teaches at Hummingbird Music Camp in New Mexico.  Chancellor holds a BM from the University of North Texas, MM from Oklahoma City University, and DMA from the University of Oklahoma.
 
An active freelance hornist, Chancellor plays 2nd Horn with the Norman Philharmonic Orchestra and the Oklahoma Haydn Festival, and extra horn for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. He has also performed with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, the Enid Symphony, the North Texas Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas as well as the orchestra of the Eisenstadt Classical Music Festival in Austria. Chancellor has been featured as lead mellophone with the Edmond Jazz Orchestra and solo horn for the North Texas Brass Band and has played in the pit for a variety of stage productions with the Oklahoma City Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Oklahoma Festival Ballet, and Summerstock Productions. In addition to the horn, Evan enjoys playing the guitar as well as a variety of folk instruments.
 
Evan is the Editor & Sole Proprietor of Solitárius Press.  He has composed works for wind band, choir, praise band and various chamber ensembles and has done a wide variety of transcriptions and arrangements.  His recent arrangements have been premiered by the Hummingbird Camp Advanced Band and by horn ensembles at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist University and the University of Central Oklahoma. He has done instrumental worship music arrangements for churches in Oklahoma City and Dallas. Mr. Chancellor is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
